Visited Places and Recommendations: (Unless noted, we stayed at the local Best Western) Saratoga, CA to Elko, NV Truckee - lunch at Bar of America, 10040 Donner Pass Rd Lovelock - Lover's Lock Plaza. There's a Safeway right off the plaza, perfect for a bathroom break. We don't care for any food offered in Elko, so we stop at the Sierra Trading Post Outlet and Whole Foods for a leg stretch and to buy dinner for a room picnic in Elko. Grassy Valley Rest Area Eastbound (yes, seriously a great place) - Grantsville around mile marker 55 - beautiful hike Provo to Saratoga WY Evanston - Uinta County Museum Rock Springs - The Bike and Trike, 612 Broadway St - serves a nice coffee and chat Saratoga - Saratoga Hot Springs Resort and Snowy Mt Brewery, 601 Pic Pike Rd Encampment - Grand Encampment Museum and lunch at The Red Wagon, 614 McCaffrey Ave #2 Indian Bathtubs Trail North Platte River-Treasure Island Public Access Area Saratoga to Cheyenne Laramie - lunch at Jeffreys Vedauwoo Recreation Area on Pole Mountain, Medicine Bow National Forest Cheyenne - The Plains Hotel and excellent local beer and food at Wyoming's Rib & Chop House Cheyenne Botanic Gardens - don't miss, especially if you have kids. Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum Terry Bison Ranch Cheyenne to Custer, SD High Plains Homestead Toadstool Geologic Park Mount Rushmore National Memorial Crazy Horse Memorial Custer - Sage Creek Grille is very good Custer to Devil's Tower Deadwood - Burger at Mustang Sally's (only place open after blizzard - way to go, Sally!) Devils Tower National Monument DT to Thermopolis Skyway over Cloud Peak into Ten Sleep Canyon Thermopolis - Hot Springs State Park and bison enclosure Thermopolis to Provo Castle Gardens Petroglyph Site Lander - Gannet Grill - a favorite from when I lived in Fort Washakie Evanston - Tumblin Tumbleweeds - great meal Provo to Hanksville Helper - fun art galleries in town, history, and meal at Balance Rock Restaurant San Rafael Swell Little Wild Horse Slot Canyon Goblin Valley Hanksville - Recommend Whispering Sands Motel (not fancy!) - dinner and breakfast at Sliprock Grill - gas station in a mountain Hanksville to Bryce Canyon City Capital Reef National Park Capital Gorge thru to Dixie National Forest then Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument Escalante - dinner at Cowboy Blues BC City to St. George Bryce Canyon National Park - fave hike here is Queen's Garden Zion National Park Orderville - Forscher German Bakery & Cafe, 110 N State St - so good! Kneaders Bakery & Cafe Painted Pony St. George to Primm, NV Snow Canyon State Park Kayenta - Coyote Gulch Art Village and eat at Xetara Garden Cafe Primm, NV back to Saratoga Mojave National Preserve - Teutonia Peak Trail Tehachapi Loop - National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark - Woodford-Tehachapi Rd, Keene, CA
